First Year Experience - OTeam Campaign

As the New Student Transition Intern for Susquehanna University's First Year Experience, I was tasked with the orientation team's behind-the-scenes work as we searched for a new professional staff member to lead orientation. Below are the promotion pieces I created on Canva to post to our social media sites and around campus to generate interest in promoting volunteer applications to become an Orientation Team Leader. The team has been struggling to fill this volunteer role since COVID and the year prior was lacking volunteers, with only 42 applicants when at least 50 leaders were needed.

I utilized social media, on-campus flyers, emails, and on-campus meet-and-greets to generate 109 applications, a 159% increase in student volunteer applications. I also created the application,  interview script, and administered 12 group interviews to craft the perfect Orientation Team from our pool of candidates.

Along with crafting the team, I also spearheaded the mid-year transfer student orientation, which consisted of three sessions with ice breakers and a slideshow on basic school resources, academic resources, as well as tips on getting involved on campus, popular school social media accounts, and student favorite study and food locations.

I was awarded the 2024 ATLAS (Aspire To Lead And Serve) Student Staff Impact Award for my work in this role.
